My mission
I’m Matt Sykes, and my approach to every project is rooted in uncovering its core essence, creating an emotional connection with the audience, and delivering exceptional results. Based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, I’ve had the privilege of working with local businesses and companies worldwide throughout my career.
In line with my commitment to sustainability, I’m actively offsetting my carbon footprint by planting trees through Treedom. This initiative not only supports environmental efforts but also helps communities around the globe by providing them with fruit-bearing trees to support their livelihoods. You can explore where my trees are planted here.

How I evolved
I began my design career in 1998, starting at a design agency straight out of work experience. From that moment, I knew graphic design was my path. I then moved on to design page layouts at the Halifax Courier.
For nearly 15 years, I worked at a design and print company, where I gained most of my commercial design experience, including projects for major automotive brands like Audi, VW, and Ford—perfect for a petrolhead like me. The people I worked with were truly inspirational, and the skills, principles, and values I learned during that time remain integral to my work today.
In 2014, I moved to Carlisle and founded 634 Creative. Now, I’m happy to be back in West Yorkshire, working from my home studio in Brighouse.
About 634 Creative
The name 634 Creative stems from my long-standing work with Pantone Colours, the global colour standard system, with Pantone 634 becoming my personal favourite. This colour reflects the essence of my business and brand. Initially, I operated from a beautiful office in Carlisle’s Old Fire Station, but after it was devastated by the 2016 floods, I transitioned to working from my home office. A few years later, I returned to Halifax, continuing to grow the business despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. Today, 634 Creative has flourished, with successful projects for clients like the Co-op, RBS, and even a few celebrities.
What I offer
I offer a range of graphic design services, specialising in logo design and branding. My creative training helps me produce design work for various formats that can be bespoke for your individual needs. If you can’t find what you are looking for it’s worth getting in touch as I may be able to do it.
Who I work with
I have worked with hundreds of clients over the years and treat everyone with the same excellent level of service, from start-ups to well established international brands. Below are just a few I have worked with alone with some case studies of my favorite projects.
